At the age of 20, Becky Knight already possesses eleven years of vocal and guitar experience, without formal lessons in either.  Audiences are surprised by the full and rich alto blends which exude from the petite worship leader. 

As a pastor’s kid, and the oldest of five children, Becky has grown-up at Lakeview Baptist Church in Auburn, Alabama. “Being in the same church my entire life has been such a blessing to me. Not only have I developed a deep love for Christ’s Bride, the Church, but also I’ve seen the value of being plugged into a local body of believers. I have learned to treasure the importance of the body using our gifts to function together.”

Becky has long been using her gifts for the glory of the Lord – whether playing at D-Now’s, Retreats, Youth Camps, or Worship Services, her primary aim is to bring glory to Christ.  Along with being a worship leader in her College Ministry, she balances life as a second year college student at Southern Union where she majors in Physical Education. 

There have been many individuals who have influenced Becky’s life and walk with the Lord, especially her grandfather, Tom Ford. “Before Papaw went to be with the Lord he was a dynamic and fearless witness for Christ and he always encouraged me to be bold in my walk with Jesus.” With that in mind, Becky has ventured into recording her music as an avenue of ministry and has recently finished her first studio project with producer Kevin Derryberry.

Her self-titled release features six original songs, all of which derive their lyrics directly from passages of Scripture. “When I’m writing it varies in whether I write the music or the lyrics initially, but in either case I always go to the Word first.” 

While music plays an active role in her day-to-day life and ministry, if you were to ask her what her passion is, there is no doubt she would utter, “Jesus is my life and He is my passion. Music is just the outlet He has given me to make His name great!” Now, with guitar in hand, that’s exactly what Becky seeks to do – sing songs that exalt and acclaim the name of Jesus.
